JAMMU, Aug 17: Dr Tanvir Singh, an alumni of Government Medical College, Jammu has been appointed as chairman in Department of Psychiatry, University of Toledo Ohio, USA.
Son of the soil, Dr Tanvir completed his graduation from GMC Jammu in 1996 and completed his residency in Psychiatry at Albany Medical College, New York followed by fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Medical University of Ohio.
Earlier, Dr Tanvir, who is son of Dr Inder Singh (Radiologist), had his preliminary education in Model Academy, MHAC Nagbani and Ranbir Higher Secondary School, Jammu. Before taking his present assignment, Dr Tanvir was working as training director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship residency.
He is member of Advisory Board of State of Ohio on mental Health and also heads the onsite audit team for the State of Ohio Psychiatry hospitals. He is also visiting consultant to various Psychiatry hospitals and has 35 major publications in peer-reviewed journals.
