JAMMU, Sept 12: Dr Sumit Mahajan, Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon at Apollo Hospital Amritsar, and Pulse Hospital Jammu, has successfully completed an advanced training programme in robotic-assisted joint replacement at the prestigious Smith & Nephew Academy, Singapore, further strengthening his expertise in next-generation surgical techniques.
The programme offered intensive exposure to robotic technology in total knee and hip replacement surgeries, combining simulation-based learning, cadaveric workshops and live demonstrations. The focus was on enhancing surgical accuracy, soft tissue preservation, and improved patient outcomes.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Dr. Mahajan said:”Robotic surgery represents the future of joint replacement. This programme has equipped me with the skills to deliver higher precision, better implant positioning, and faster recovery times for patients. I am excited to integrate this technology into my surgical practice.”
Dr Mahajan was among eleven surgeons selected from across India to attend this prestigious course, highlighting his commitment to continuous learning and advancement in orthopaedic care.
With robotic-assisted surgery becoming increasingly important in modern orthopaedics, Dr Mahajan’s training is expected to benefit patients across North India. The technique offers greater surgical accuracy, reduced postoperative pain and faster rehabilitation, making it a transformative option for individuals requiring joint replacement.
