Dr Sidha felicitated for book on breast cancer

Dr Kirti Bushan Sidha being honoured for his book on breast cancer in Pune.

JAMMU, June 26: The son of the soil Dr Kirti Bushan Sidha, originally a resident of Mattan Anantnag in Kashmir, the first qualified Onco-Surgeon of the State, presently working as Consultant in Department of Surgical Oncology, Asian Institute of Oncology Mumbai and also on the panel of experts with Leelawati Hospital and S.L.Raheja Hospital (Fortis Associate), Mumbai, was felicitated by Breast Cancer Foundation of India (BCFI) for writing book on Breast Cancer “Breast Cancer Management”.
The book was released at the 17th National Conference of BCFI held at Pune. Dr J K Singh (Padamshree), Secretary of BCFI and Dr M K Mahajan, former President of BCFI and renowned radiation oncologist felicitated Dr Kirti with certificates of honour and memento.
The book co-authored by Dr Sanjay Sharma (renowned surgical oncologist) will be sent to about 200 Institutions including Medical Colleges, Cancer Hospitals and other leading Hospitals of the country. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kirti revealed that breast cancer is the commonest cancer of urban Indian females and 2nd commonest to cancer cervix in rural population,
Dr Kirti Bushan has also been awarded by former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abul Kalam Azad for being the best young Onco-surgeon of the year.
