JAMMU, Jan 29: Dr Rekha Harish, Professor and Head Department of Paediatrics, Government Medical College Jammu, has been bestowed with the highest honour of IPA-fellowship of Indian Academy of Paediatrics at the National Conference of Indian Academy of Paediatrics held at Kolkata where former President of the India A P J Abdul Kalam was the chief guest.
She was one of the 19 Paediatricians chosen from all over the country in recognition of her outstanding contribution made towards betterment of children of the nation.
A Graduate and Post Graduate from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow, Dr Rekha Harish joined the institution in 1984 and rose to the present position.
She was also invited to deliver a guest lecture on “Snake Bite and Scorpion Stings: The Indian Perspective”, which was appreciated followed by an extremely interactive session.
During the conference, she was also invited to attend the meeting of National Advisory Board of the most prestigious national journal of IAP-“Indian Pediatrics”. She was also invited to chair a symposium on Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome by Nutrition Sub-Chapter of IAP.
