Srinagar, Feb 7: The University of Kashmir today appointed Dr Majid Zaman of the Directorate of Information Technology and Support System as its new Controller of Examinations.
The appointment order of Dr Zaman has been issued by the Registrar of the varsity Dr Nisar A Mir
“Consequent upon the approval of the Hon’ble Chancellor (Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor), sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of Dr Majid Zaman S/o Mr Ghulam Mohammad Baba as Controller of Examinations (tenure position) for a period of five years,” reads the order.
It is to be noted that the appointment has come after the recommendations of the statutory selection committee of the Varsity.
About the qualification of Dr Zaman, he holds a PhD in Computer Sciences from the University of Kashmir while he holds MS in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani.
He has held several important positions in the University of Kashmir, including, Director National Academic Depository (NAD), Deputy Controller of Examinations and Coordinator MSc IT Programme.
