JAMMU, May 2: The People’s Hut Foundation (PHF), in collaboration with the Department of Relief and Rehabilitation (M) J&K, hosted a comprehensive “Free Multi-Specialty Medical Camp” today at the Community Hall in Purkhoo Camp, near here.
According to Vikas Koul, Advisor to PHF, this medical camp serves as a core component of the foundation’s “Mobile Health Clinic Programme,” a dedicated effort aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility across Jammu & Kashmir.
The camp was inaugurated by Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Dr. Arvind Karwani, alongside DC Relief Vijay Kumar Sharma, eminent social worker and youth leader, Muktesh Yogi, and special guests Rockey Pandita and Kamal Ganjoo.
The event was organized by PHF members, including Dr. Rohit Koul, Dr. Ritu Koul, Ms. Zoha Barkat, Vikas Koul, Ms. Lalita Sharma, and team of dedicated PHF volunteers. During the inauguration, chief guest Dr. Karwani urged residents to fully utilize the services, noting that the overwhelming response highlights the critical need to bridge the gap between specialized facilities and the communities that struggle to access them.
The success of the camp was heavily bolstered by the participation of premier healthcare institutions. Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar provided specialist doctors coordinated by Marketing Head Dheeraj Singh and Dr. Priyanka Sharma. True Faith Dental Clinic, under Dr. Prashant Verma, delivered dental services, while diagnostic services were managed by O-Lab’s Ms. Ambica Parihar and Dheeraj Chudhary. Comprehensive eye screenings were conducted by Sharp Sight Eye Hospital Jammu, led by a team including Sahil Sharma, Rahul Kumar, Tanvi, and Humera. The Directorate of Ayush J&K, under DAO Dr. Vandana Dogra, provided traditional wellness services represented by Dr. Ity Mahajan, Dr. Madhu Sharma, and Vijay Kumar Bhat.
Camp coordinator Muktesh Yogi acknowledged the humanitarian commitment of the People’s Hut Foundation.
