Dr Karan in Beijing to attend World Congress

JAMMU, Aug 11: Former Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader, Dr Karan Singh, today reached Beijing on a 7-day visit to attend 24th session of World Congress of Philosophy.
Dr Karan has been invited to chair one of the plenary sessions of the World Congress. The broad theme of the Congress is ‘Learning to be Human’ and Dr Karan Singh will be presiding over the session looking into traditions.
During his stay in Beijing, Dr Karan will visit the Indian Cultural Centre, which he had opened there as president of Indian Council for Cultural Relations in 2008.
The Government has decided to rename the Centre as ‘Vivekananda Centre’ and the Indian Ambassador has invited Dr Karan Singh to attend the function.
