‘Dr Jitendra’s statement still lacks clarification on package’

JAMMU, Dec 5: MJR-47, Movement for Justice for Refugees of 1947 from PoJK welcomed ‘some clarification’ given by Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS in PM Office regarding release of Rs 2000 crore package in favour of PoJK-1947 DP’s as well as Chamb 1947, 65 &71, but maintained that it still lacks major information on the subject.
A spokesman of the organization said that all the refugee organisations have been seeking clarity regarding package as there is still no word about the total amount relief sanctioned per family. Even Dr Jitendra Singh’s statement still lacks full clarification. Apart from the monetary package, other important components of recommendations such as reservation for wards of DP’s in technical institutions all over the country, special employment package, inclusion of left over families  and other is still not clear.
It is strange that Dr  Jitendra Singh takes credit and lambast others for seeking clarification but himself does not seem to be clear about the package. Selling half baked cakes and then claiming credit is not justified. Rather such statements compound the confusion already created leading to frustration amongst DP’s, who are struggling for justice for the last seventy years.
“We strongly welcome if Rs 2000 crore released  is considered as Ist  installment and not full package. We urge that the Govt should announce the total amount sanctioned and if they so desire let it be disbursed in installments which in our way of thinking is also unjustified. We also hail Dr Singh’s declaration of waving off affidavit for which we have been pleading  for the same.
MJR-47 further urged upon the Govt to include 5,300 DP families who were made to take shelter in other States of Indian Union after their migration from illegally occupied part of J&K State in wake of tribal raid. These families are from J&K state and  have been paid ex-gratia of Rs 3,500 as to those living within the State and also residential quarter etc. It is most painful when J&K state is disowning them.
