JAMMU, Nov 4: National Professor of Diabetes and nationally known Diabetologist, Dr Jitendra Singh will be the Chairman & Head of the Scientific Committee for the prestigious 3-day Annual Diabetes Conference of RSSDI (Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India), beginning from November 8 at “India Expo Center” Greater Noida, NCR Delhi.
Following this announcement from the RSSDI headquarters in New Delhi, Dr Jitendra Singh today released to the media, scientific programme of the conference, which will be formally inaugurated by Sir Michael Hirst, world, renowned Diabetologist and President of the “International Diabetes Federation “(IDF).
Besides Sir Michael Hirst, the conference will be addressed by a galaxy of foreign faculty including Dr Herve Blottiere (France), Dr Franco Folli (USA), Dr Peter Kurtzhals (USA), Dr Gerald Shulman (USA), Dr Pareshv Dandona (USA), Dr Kitt Falk Peterson (USA), Dr Harold Levovitz (USA), Dr Rubina Heptulla (USA), Dr Mohamed Hasaneen (UK) and several others.
The Indian faculty will include all the top names in the field of Diabetes in India including Dr V Mohan (Chennai), Dr Shashank Joshi (Mumbai), Dr V Seshiah (Chennai), Dr B K Sahay (Hyderabad), Dr Ashok Das (Puducherry), Dr H B Chandalia (Mumbai), Dr C Munichoodappa (Benglure), Dr Samar Banerjee (Kolkata) and Dr S V Madhu (Delhi).
Another important event on the final day of the conference will be 1.6 Km long symbolic “Diabetes Walk” to be undertaken early morning to create public awareness about the disease, Dr Singh informed.
RSSDI is one of the world’s biggest research bodies in the field of diabetes and one of its primary objectives is to promote research and to initiate young medicos from India into the field of research in diabetes.
