NEW DELHI, Apr 1: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today launched an exclusive National Monitoring Dashboard (NMD) for Covid-19 grievances, through video conferencing.
The Dashboard has been developed by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in pursuance of the recommendations of Empowered Group of Officers, constituted on the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 on Public Grievances and Suggestions, to ensure timely implementation of Covid-19 Response Activities. The Dashboard has been developed and implemented at “https://darpg.gov.in”, where Covid-19 related grievances are to be received in Centralized Public Grievance Redress And Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) with all Ministries and Departments and States/Union Territories, and monitored on priority basis by a technical team.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jitendra Singh said, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is the endeavour of the Government to ensure timely redressal of Covid-19 grievances. He said, directions have been issued to Ministries/Departments to prioritize these grievances and provide redressal within a period of three days.
Dr Jitendra Singh disclosed that on the first day after the introduction of Dashboard itself, he had personally reviewed the status of as many as 262 grievances of the Central Government and 83 grievances of various State governments.
Out of these, on day one, 43 of the grievances received pertained to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, while 31 of them were related to the Ministry of External Affairs. The nature of grievances mainly related to quarantine facilities not being adhered to, essential supply related complaints, supply of ration and essential items, evacuation of relatives from foreign countries etc.
Union Secretary, DARPG Sh Kshatrapati Shivaji, Additional Secretary, DARPG V Srinvas were present on the occasion, while Joint Secretaries J R Dubey and N B S Rajput, along with other senior officers of the Department were present in the launch ceremony through video conferencing.
