NEW DELHI, June 16 :  Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today interacted, through video conference, with his constituency natives residing in NCR Delhi and enquired about their well-being  in the wake of COVID pandemic. He also took a note of the inputs offered by them depending upon their experience and feedback received from their respective native places.
In the two-hour long interaction, those who participated hailed from different areas of the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency including Billawar, Basholi, Kathua, Hiranagar, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Paddar, Katra, Udhampur etc. The participants belonged to different age groups and were working in Delhi in different professional fields including IT, Medicine, Multinational Companies, sports, tourism/transport industry etc. All of them, in one voice, appreciated the assistance provided to them by the New Delhi office of Dr Jitendra Singh during the trying times of the lockdown by responding to every requirement, whether it was for providing  necessary supplies or facilitating movement  of the people back to their native places.
Most of the participants also acknowledged the services rendered by Dr Jitendra Singh in his constituency in the last six years and his efforts to make up for the lapses of past. They also referred to the valuable intervention made by him in the last few months to address regional issues like SRO 202, deferment of Vehicular Registration Tax and resolving the controversy related to re-opening  of schools after lockdown.
During the meeting, a presentation was also made about the major works accomplished in the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda constituency during the one year of the second parliamentary term which completed last month.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, in his last six years as MP, there has not been a single week when he did not spend two to three days every week in the constituency. Since the constituency is too  large, he said, he made a roster for himself to visit every area by rotation.
In the wake of lockdown, however, Dr Jitendra Singh said, he was missing his weekly visits to the constituency and therefore, his office planned a series of virtual interactions with people living in different parts of the constituency as well as, when required, also in other parts outside the constituency. He said, today’s virtual meeting will be followed up by regular interactions with people from the constituency living in Delhi NCR and added that they were free to contact his office in case of any need.
Dr Jitendra Singh called upon youth professionals residing in Delhi to motivate their peers and counterparts in Jammu & Kashmir to engage in capacity-building and develop competitive aptitude in order to avail of the opportunities  unfolding after abrogation of Article 370 and setting up Union Territory.
In keeping with the Modi Government’s resolve to provide a level playing field to every youth, Dr Jitendra Singh said, interviews have been abolished in the recruitment process in order to check malpractices and 10,000 jobs have been notified. He said, heavy industrial investments from all over the country are in pipeline which got delayed due to pandemic and lockdown, but as soon as these start arriving, there will be a boom for revenue generation and  job creation.
