Dr Jitendra briefed about Kashmir situation post-Art 370 abrogation

NEW DELHI, Oct 7: Special Director General, North Zone, Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF), Zulfiquar Hassan called on Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh here today and briefed him about the Kashmir situation post – Article 370 abrogation.
Hassan informed Dr Jitendra Singh that the situation after the August 5 decision has been absolutely normal. He said, there has been no significant incidence of violence.
Spl DG CRPF categorically refuted the rumours that there was curfew imposed. He said, not for a single day was curfew imposed in any part of the Valley. There are , however, few restrictions imposed, he added.
Hassan also presented to the Minister, a “Coffee Table Book” based on the successful and peaceful conduct of recently concluded Amarnath Yatra.
Dr Jitendra Singh complimented the Paramilitary forces and Army for their contribution in Jammu & Kashmir during the last three decades of Pak sponsored militancy. He said , this year has been the most peaceful festive season in the last several years. Festivals like Eid, Independence Day and Moharram followed closely, one after the other, but went off absolutely peacefully, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh denounced certain activists who made unsubstantiated charges against security forces, simply for narrow and short-lived political gains. He said, such self-seeking activists are guilty of committing a sin, for which there is no redemption.
The Government has resolved to take strict action , not only against terrorists, but also against their promoters and their self-styled publicists, said Dr Jitendra Singh.
After October 31, Dr Jitendra Singh said, a new era will dawn in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and its benefits will be realised within a few months itself.
