JAMMU, May 1: The service matters of Central Government and employees of J&K UT and Ladakh will be heard and disposed of by CAT Bench in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was stated by Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh here today. He said no clarification has been issued to previous order which has been misunderstood and no corrigendum or amendment has been issued to it as the same order and notification stands which was issued by his Ministry yesterday. He said the Chandigarh Circuit covers, J&K, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Dr Jitendra Singh said the Judges will be deputed in J&K to hold benches in the UT for the disposal of the cases and no employee of the two UTs will have to go to Chandigarh.
The Union Minister said neither the petitioner nor the lawyer need to go to Chandigarh for filling petition or appearing before the Tribunal. The term Chandigarh Circuit is being mis-interpreted to mean that the petitioner and lawyer would have to go to Chandigarh, which is not so, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh said earlier also, the CAT Bench used to hold its sittings in Jammu & Kashmir to dispose of service matters related to Central Government employees of J&K. The only difference now is that it will also be disposing of matters related to UT employees and therefore will have more frequent sittings in UT of J&K, he added while allaying the fears of employees and advocates in this regard.
The Union Minister said the registration of cases can also be done locally either online or in the Secretariat Office of CAT being set up locally after the UT Government provides appropriate facility.
He said disposal of cases through CAT in UT of J&K will ensure fare and objective delivery of justice. Those opposing it are doing so because Judge will be from outside but there should be no room for any misinformation, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated that all service matters of Central Government as well employees of J&K and Ladakh UTs will be heard and disposed of in CAT Bench in J&K itself.
