Srinagar, May 13: National Conference, President, Dr Farooq Abdullah today conducted an extensive tour of Shehar-e-Khaas along with NC general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar and paid obeisance at the Dastageer Sahab, Naqshband Sahab and Makhdoom Sahab shrines. Dastaarbandi of the NC President was held at all three revered shrines.
Dr Farooq Abdullah also visited the residence of the Sajada Nasheen of Hazrat Peer Dastageer Sahab Shrine and extended felicitations on his marriage. Pertinently, Dr. Farooq had also visited Qaid Mazaar at Naseem Bagh to offer Fateha for Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and Madar-e-Meharbaan as well as Soura to offer Fateha for Late NC Stalwart and former general secretary Advocate Sheikh Nazir Ahmed a couple of days ago.
Praying for the prosperity of the State and its people, Dr. Farooq Abdullah lauded the role played by the previous National Conference Government in undertaking various landmark developmental works in Shehar-e-Khaas and said this was in line with the Party’s age-old, unbreakable bond with the people of Shehar-e-Khaas.
“The work done by the previous Government in the upkeep, restoration and reconstruction works at the Makhdoom Sahab, Dastageer Sahab and Naqshband Sahab shrines is commendable and heart-warming. Shehar-e-Khaas is the center of history, culture and politics in J&K and we are committed to working for its welfare and progress”, Dr. Farooq said.
