JAMMU, Aug 7: Dr. Bharat Bhushan who today took over as Managing Director, SC, ST and OBC Development Corporation reviewed the functioning of the Corporation.
He was apprised in the meeting that six Apex Corporations of the Government of India under the administrative control of Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment are the major source of funding of the State Corporation. Besides, the State Government also provides assistance in the form of annual Capex Budget.
The General Manager of the Corporation apprised that the SC, ST and BC Development Corporation is engaged in the socio-economic upliftment of unemployed, educated youth of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and minorities. The Corporation provides the target groups financial assistance in the form of soft loans so that youth can start income generating units and earn their livelihood.
Dr Bharat Bhushan, Manging Director of the Corporation exhorted officers and employees to work in missionary mode so that the benefit of the schemes percolates down to the masses. He also emphasized on timely recovery of the advanced loans to make the corporation a vibrant financial body.
The General Manager, Financial Advisor /Chief Accounts Officer, Deputy General Manager, Administrative Officer and other functiaries of the Corporation were present in the meeting.
