JAMMU, Mar 16: Joint Director, Model Institute of Education and Research (MIER), Dr Adit Gupta, has been appointed as Endeavour Awards Ambassador by the Australian Govern-ment.
The awards were presented by Harinder Sidhu, Australian High Commissioner to India. Present on the occasion were the dignitaries from the Australian Embassy and noted Alumni from Australian Universities.
Dr Gupta himself is a recipient of the prestigious Endeavour Execu-tive Award in the year 2009 for undertaking research at Curtin University, Perth, Australia.
The Endeavour Awards are prestigious scholarships funded by the Australian Government, attracting the best and brightest from around the world to undertake study and professional development in Australia. These are merit-based scholarships and fellowships providing opportunities for citizens around the world to undertake study, research or professional development in Australia and for Australians to do the same overseas. The Endeavour Schola-rships and Fellowships aim to build Australia’s reputation for excellence in the provision of education and research, support the internationalization of the Australian higher education and research sectors and offer high-achieving individuals from overseas and Australia opportunities to increase their productivity and expertise in their field.
This year 18 eminent Endeavour Awards alumni have been appointed to act as Ambassadors for promoting these Awards. Dr Gupta would be volunteering his own time to this role and will share his experiences under an Endeavour Award with leading higher education and research institutions in the northern region.
The aim is to make other high achieving Indians aware about the opportunities available to them under this prestigious scholarship programme.
