DPS holds Science Workshop for elementary school teachers

JAMMU, Dec 10: Delhi Public School Jammu organized Science Workshop for elementary school teachers, here today.
Sixty Science and EVS teachers of classes I-VIII from DPS Jammu, Nagbani and Katra took part in the Workshop.
The workshop began with the presentation of a bouquet by the Headmistress, Meenu Gupta to the resource person Champa Banerjee. The resource person focused on creating more informed and innovative teachers to help the students in solving their problems. She encouraged the teachers to adopt experimentation and lab friendly teaching methodology. She used day to day things to create interesting experiments for the students. Her vast experience and innovative teaching methodology were of immense benefit to the teachers attending the workshop.
In the introductory session a discussion was held among the teachers on the weaknesses and strengths of the teachers during the teaching and learning process.
In the second session, the participants explored and understood the fundamental elements of being an effective educator of Science and EVS subjects. The resource person said “An activity gets connected with learning when it is analysed and the results are codified in the language and vocabulary of Science.
The Principal, DPS Jammu Ruchi Chabra expressed the need for teachers to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds. She conveyed best wishes to all participants.
Earlier, the Headmistress Meenu Gupta presented welcome address, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dheeraj Dewan Thakur.
