JAMMU, Dec 10: To commemorate and celebrate the 5123rd birthday of Shrimad Bhagvat Geeta a grand function as organized today at Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi near here which was attended by a galaxy of saints, social and religious leaders besides a large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu.
Actually the four -day long programme regarding the celebrations started on December 7 with religious fervor and gaiety and it culminated today with Puranahuti of Maha Yagya.
The scholars, saints and socio-religious activists threw light on the significance of the day.
Swami Kumar Ji while highlighting the significance of Shrimad Bahgwat Geeta appealed the people to strictly follow the teachings of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta in their day to day life.
On the occasion a book comprising of devotional songs written by Makhan Lal Bhat (Muflis) was released by Swami Ji. Justice (retd) B L Bhat, president J&K Consumer Redressal Commission, Roshan Lal Raina, vice Chancellor, University of Jaipur, Ravinder Mishra a scientist from Delhi and M K Dhar PRO Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti were honoured by Swami Ji on the occasion.
BJP State general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul also attended the function and threw light on teachings of Geeta and Karma. He said if we follow the path of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta in right way the world will be relieved of all problems.
Others who attended the function included Swami Mohan Bab, Swami Pran Nath Bhat Gareeb, (Bhaiji), Chander Mohan Gupta, BJP State treasurer, Dr Susheel Wattal, Harji Lal Jad, Prof A N Sadhu, Kundan Kashmiri, Kuldeep Raina, Ashwani Chrungoo, Ramesh Hangloo, M K Yogi, Dr A N Pandita and Nana Ji Raina.
