JAMMU, Dec 26: In connection with the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s two young sons- Sahibzades Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu observed 1st Veer Bal Diwas to pay homage to their great valour and sacrifice.
On this occasion, an animated movie on Sahibzades “Chaar Sahibzaade” was showcased for the children of the Pre-Primary wing which was followed by story narration of these ‘Veers’ by the respective class teachers addressing the themes of sacrifice, courage, respect and responsibility. Later, the children also coloured the images of these two brave sons of India.
The children from classes III to VI attended a special assembly on the occasion. The colourful backdrop highlighting the event was artistically curated by Pankaj Manhas and Priya, Art faculty of the School. The inspiring story of life and bravery of the Sahibzadas were narrated by the Coordinator, Navneet Kaur, touching some major events of their lives.
Parvinder Kour recited a motivating poem on valour and sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his sons. Tejveer Singh of Class V-F presented thought of the day on ‘Sacrifice,’ while the assembly was compared by Randeep Kaur.
Principal-DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra, Headmistress- Meenu Gupta, Chief Accounts Officer- RC Gupta and other staff members attended ‘Ardas’ and also paid a floral homage to the martyrs.
President-RCT, Ajatshatru Singh, PVC Dr Ritu Singh and Director, SS Sodhi also paid their rich tributes on the occasion.
