SRINAGAR, Apr 2: The family members of the domestic violence victim have alleged that even though the police have arrested some accused involved in the alleged murder of their daughter, but they are shielding some conspirators.
Inderjeet Singh, father of the deceased 23 year-old woman of Dildar, Tangdar, in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district said her daughter was beaten to death after they (parents) failed to fulfill the demands of her in-laws.
“My daughter was beaten to death by her in-laws during the intervening night of February 4 and the torture marks were visible on her body, but doctors produced fake report after being bribed by the accused family,” Singh alleged, adding that the police has filed weak cases against Dalbeer Singh husband of the deceased, his father Dileep Singh and other family members.
Singh alleged that police have not arrested the conspirator, Mukhan Singh, who is also named in the FIR no. 6/2014 under Section 306, 498 RPC at Police Sation Karnah.
Station House Officer, Karnah, Tariq Ahmad, however, dismissed the allegations of the distraught father.
The SHO said that police arrested five persons, including two women, who are named in the FIR. He added that among them two women have been released on bail and three men are still in judicial custody.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Kupwara, Abdul Jabbar, also corroborated the SHO’s statements, saying that Inderjeet Singh wants to implicate everyone in the case.
However, Singh appealed the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Inspector General of Police Kashmir and Women’s Commission to look into the “gruesome” murder of her young daughter.
