Dorjay reviews functioning of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs, Chering Dorjay convened a high-level meeting with Board of Directors of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank (JCCB) to review the functioning of the Bank here today.
On the occasion, the Minister stressed upon the officials to conduct elections of the Bank within the stipulated time frame as the period of the current Board of Directors is nearing completion. He asked them to enhance the number of electoral roll of shortlisted shareholders of cooperative societies so that fair elections are conducted.
While reviewing the developmental projects and functioning of the Bank, the Minister said, “we should make efforts collectively to make this bank more effective for the welfare of its members so that they benefit from it”.
The Minister said the Government is abreast with the people’s problems and assured that their issues will be looked into and solved in a time-bound manner. He said that the Government has already taken various  measures to ensure these Banks function smoothly and generate profit as well.
Dorjay asked the officers of JCCB to work with utmost dedication and redouble their efforts so that rising demand of members of the society is met. Highlighting the achievements of the bank, Minister said that improvement has been witnessed in the implementation various schemes.
Secretary Cooperatives, Bashir Ahmad, Registrar Cooperative Department, Peer Hafeezullah, Board of Directors of JCCB besides other officials of the Cooperative Department were present in the meeting.
