Don’t over burden common man: Sadhotra

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 25: Former minister and senior National Conference leader, Ajay Sadhotra today expressed serious concern over 19% hike in passenger fare and said that people are unable to bear this additional burden at this juncture.
In a press statement here today, Sadhotra said due to Covid-19 common man has been badly hit and economically broken. Unfortunately , announcement of 19% hike in the fare at this time, is very unfair and unjustified move on the part of Government.
Sadhotra said such a steep hike will exert extra burden on the people. He said the jobs have been curtailed and there is unprecedented rise in unemployment due to Covid.
He further said that BJP Government utterly failed to check frequent price rise in petroleum products and common man has to pay for the failure of BJP Government. Transporters were really in need of passenger fare hike but not common man.
Sadhotra demanded that hike in fare be reduced so that common man is not burdened. In present situation, common man is not in position to bear this burden of 19 % hike. It is better to do away with this hike under present circumstances, Sadhotra added.
