This has reference to the 2-day conference on “Dogri: challenges and opportunities.”
The conference proved to be an excellent opportunity for Dogri lovers and writers to interact with each other, and to deliberate upon various issues faced by Dogri in its evolution as a language and the problems encountered by writers in publishing their books.
Besides, the suggestion made by Governor of the State N N Vohra with regard to bringing out a monthly tabloid should be given due consideration. It will help tremendously Dogri to grow further. After its inclusion in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution, Dogri is enriching itself day by day. The need of the hours is that Dogri writers should deal with certain issues of socio-political importance in the novels, story books and plays. It will really prove to be a boon for the language.
