This has reference to the article ‘Dogra heritage sites’ DE April 19.
The issue regarding Dogra heritage sites as highlighted by the author deserves attention from the concerned officials. These heritage sites ar not mere buildings or structures is nud and brick but repositories of history and culture. They are architectural marvels to be studied by architects, archaeologists and anthropologists. Besides, these buildings may turn out to be tourist attractions and sources for generating job opportunities for people. These building are like bridges connecting the past with our present and to our future.
In case no attention is paid them in time, these magnificient buildings will becomes heaps of rubble in coming times. And it will be a monumental loss which can’t be compensated in any way then. Therefore, prudence lies in the fact that the concerned department should wake up to this problem at the earliest and save them from crumbling.
