JAMMU, Apr 13: The shops and other commercial establishments in district Doda remained closed to observe complete shutdown in protest against non-restoration of the National Highway connecting the district with rest of the India.
Locals along with members of Bar Association held protest against State Government, Central Government and District Administration for ignoring Doda region of Chenab Valley.
The protesting people were demanding early restoration of National Highway, connecting Doda with other parts of India.
Congress MLC and District President Doda Congress Committee along with their supporters also participated in the protest.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Randeep Bhandari urged the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to restore the National Highway for vehicular movement as people in district Doda are facing problems due to non-availability of essential commodities.
