JAMMU, Aug 24: Due to technical snag in the 132 KV transmission line near Udhampur today, the power supply to Doda and Kishtwar Districts got snapped.
Following the development, Power Development Department (PDD) assured NHPC all logistic support to restore the power supply in twin districts of Chenab valley. Experts, however, said that it will take at least 24 hours to repair the snag.
Sources said the power supply was snapped in the twin districts today evening at around 7:42 pm due to technical snag in the 132 KV transmission line near Udhampur.
“A conductor of 132 KV transmission line got damaged at Samroli in District Udhampur, resulting in power failure”, said PK Langer, General Manager, NHPC.
“We are on the job and hope that the power supply will be restored tomorrow at the earliest”, the officer added.
