Doda-Bhaderwah road remains closed for 4th consecutive day

BHADERWAH, Aug 5: Due to continuous landslides and falling of shooting stones near Sanai, the Doda-Bhaderwah road remained closed for the 4th consecutive day, causing great inconvenience to the people.
Due to closure of the road, the people residing in various areas of tehsil Bhaderwah are facing problems as they are facing shortage of ration, kerosene oil, medical facilities etc.
The people have appealed the concerned authorities to remove the landslides and make the road through for vehicular movement at the earliest.
However, men and machinery of GREF are on job to remove the landslides, but due to continuous landslides and falling of shooting stones they are facing problems to make the road go through.
SDM Bhaderwah Mohammad Anwar Banday who visited the landsliding site said “We have placed seven machines at the landslide site at Sanai area on Doda-Bhaderwah road, which are clearing debris round the clock. The job is risky due to falling of stones and today we suspended the work due to heavy landslide and shooting stone once again. We are trying our best to clear the debris as early as possible”.
SDM Bhaderwah further added that removal of landslides will take few more days.
“Passengers are not stranded as they are crossing the damaged stretch from other side by foot to take another vehicle from the other side near Seri village”, SDM added.
He also informed that for the convenience of the passengers, the administration assisted by DFO and BDO Bhaderwah is also going to construct a temporary bridge on the river Neeru where from passengers will cross the damaged stretch till road will be restored.
