SRINAGAR, May 29: Doctors have called for suspension of their work for an hour in the hospitals across the Valley to protest the suspension of a senior doctor in SMHS by the Government.
A spokesman of the Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) said the stubborn attitude of Government toward the issue is unfortunate.
“The Indifferent approach of Government towards public anger on DAK President’s suspension is painful, despite anger over the order the Government is turning a deaf ear to it,” the spokesman said.
Medical fraternity, civil societies, sociopolitical organizations have demanded revocation of the order against Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan but the Government is not paying any heed to it.
The spokesman said doctors have decided to suspend routine work in all the hospitals of the Valley for an hour between10 am to 11 am to protest the unjustified suspension of Dr Nisar.
“We are forced to take this drastic step due to the callous and insensitive attitude of Government. The impact of this step on patient care will lie on the Government as they forced us to take this step,” he said.
DAK said that doctors and paramedics will stage protests during the striking hour against the suspension order.
