Doc, 32-yr-old youth among 4 die of Corona in Jammu

One casualty in Kashmir, 2 in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Nov 22: A retired doctor and a 32-year-old youth were among four persons who died of COVID-19 in Jammu region while one death was reported from Kashmir division and two from the Union Territory of Ladakh.
A 32-year-old youth hailing from village Nimbla in Ramnagar tehsil of Udhampur district died of ailment and Coronavirus in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today, Medical Superintendent Dr Dara Singh said.
He added that an 86-year-old retired doctor succumbed to the virus at his house in Bakshi Nagar,
A 52-year-old woman from village Motay in RS Pura tehsil died of pathogen. She had no other ailments.
A 63-year-old man from Jawahar Nagar New Plots died of ailments and COVID-19 in the Dayanand Medical College (DMC) Ludhiana.
The person who died of COVID in Kashmir hailed from Srinagar and was suffering from bilateral pneumonia.
With four deaths in Jammu region, the Corona toll has gone up to 555 including 289 in Jammu district, 52 Doda, 49 Rajouri, 39 Udhampur, 35 Kathua, 26 Samba, 22 Poonch, 18 Ramban, 16 Kishtwar and nine in Reasi district.
Jammu region reported 274 Corona positive cases today, 121 in Jammu district alone, 44 in Udhampur and 29 in Doda district while 245 patients recovered from the virus. Jammu region now has 42387 Corona cases. Of them, 1918 are active positives while 39914 have recovered from the virus and there have been 555 casualties.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today reported two COVID casualties and 69 fresh cases.
Both the casualties were reported in Leh district while 69 of 73 new cases were also recorded in Leh and four in Kargil district.
Ladakh now has 100 Corona casualties-59 in Leh and 41 in Kargil and 7939 cases. Among total cases, 928 are active cases while 6911 have been treated.
Meanwhile, Srinagar district in Kashmir with 403 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 159, Budgam 98, Pulwama 86, Kupwara 80, Anantnag 77, Bandipora 50, Kulgam 48, Ganderbal 37 and Shopian 36.
And Kashmir valley reported 290 positive cases taking the J&K tally to 106548.
Among the fresh cases Srinagar reported 107, Baramulla 52, Budgam 28, Pulwama 25, Kupwara 32, Anantnag 8, Bandipora 6, Ganderbal 22, Kulgam 6 and Shopian 4.
Srinagar has 22350 positive cases with 1485 active, 20462 recovered, 403 deaths; Baramulla has 7243 positive cases with 536 active, 6548 recovered, 159 deaths; Pulwama reported 4987 positive cases with 166 active cases, 4735 recovered, 86 deaths; Kulgam has 2576 positive cases with 74 active, 2454 recoveries, 48 deaths; Shopian has 2301 positive cases with 69 active, 2196 recovered and 36 deaths; Anantnag district has 4503positive cases with 181 active, 4245 recovered, 77 deaths; Budgam has 6705 positive cases with 299 active and 6308 recovered, 98 deaths; Kupwara has 5059 positive cases with 521 active, 4458 recovered, 80 deaths; Bandipora has 4339 positive cases with 185 active, 4104 recovered, 50 deaths and Ganderbal has 4098 positive cases with 266 active positive cases, 3795 recoveries and 37 deaths.
Out of 106548 positive cases, 5700 are active, 99219 have recovered and 1629 have died including 1074 in Kashmir division.
Moreover, the officials said that 579 more Covid-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 334 from Kashmir valley.
