JAMMU, Apr 4: Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Department of Mining, Vikramjit Singh today placed District Mineral Officer (DMO) Ramban, JS Kapoor under suspension.

Official sources said that pending inquiry into his conduct and some allegations of illegal mining in the area, J S Kapoor (Driller), District Mineral Officer Ramban has been placed under suspension with immediate effect. He will remain attached to the office of Director Geology & Mining, Jammu till further orders.
DMO Reasi, Mohd Imtiaz, holding the additional charge of the post of DMO Udhampur, shall also hold the charge of the post of DMO Ramban, in addition to his own duties, till further orders.
