DM orders closure of 18 private schools

RAJOURI, June 20: District Magistrate Rajouri has ordered immediate closure of 18 private schools found running without permission from competent authority while eight private schools found running classes higher than their allotted permission have been strictly directed to discontinue running higher classes and to return the fee of students besides facilitating their admission in nearby recognised schools.
Based upon several complaints received through various sources, District Magistrate Rajouri directed all the Tehsildars to conduct surprise inspection of private institutions and to examine their permission and other necessary codal formalities.
During inspection, it came to fore that eighteen schools across the district are being run without any kind of permission from competent authority.
Taking note of it, District Magistrate ordered immediate closure of all these illegal schools and also directed Tehsildars concerned to implement the order. He also asked the Chief Education Officer Rajouri to oversee the implementation of the order.
Those running the illegal schools have been directed to return all kinds of fee charged from students and their parents and ZEOs have been asked to facilitate their admission in nearby recognised schools so as to keep the future of students safe.
These schools include- Sir Sayeed Muslim Institute of Education Upper Bhangai Thannamandi, Muzamal Institute of Education Thannamandi, Mian Abdullah National Academy Thannamandi, Aftab Memorial Institute Dhoke Thannamandi, Gyan Jyoti Vidyalaya Bathuni Rajouri, Gurukul Public School Rajouri, Dar- ul- Uloom Badi Darhal, Budhal Cooperative Institute of Education Budhal, MEM Academy Kotranka, Baba Nanga Memorial Public School Kotranka, Green Valley Education Institute Kotranka, Gyaan Jyoti Bhawan Institute Kotranka, Shaheed Lal Din Memorial Public School Kotranka, Star Rising Academy Kotranka, Nazamia Institute of Education Kotranka, Bright Public School Kotranka, Suraj Institute of Education Khawas and Model Institute of Education, Khawas.
During inspection, eight schools were also found wherein managements were running classes higher than their permission thereby, flouting norms.
These schools include, Rachwa Public School Nadyala, Al-aman Institute Palangarh, Yasmeen English School Shahdra, Baba Ghulam Shah Reyaz-ul- Institute Bhangai Thannamandi, Baba Nizamuddin School Thannamandi, St. Marry Convent School Behrote Thannamandi, Gandhi Memorial School Bandrai Sunderbani and Muslim Institute of Education, Kassian Darhal.
The DM has ordered immediate discontinuing of additional classes and has directed ZEOs concerned to facilitate admissions of students in nearby recognised schools.
