JAMMU, June 2: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jammu, under the guidance of Chairman Sanjay Parihar, successfully organized an awareness program at the Psychiatry Hospital, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
As per a statement, the event aimed to educate individuals about the NALSA (Legal Services to the Mentally Ill and Mentally Disabled Persons) Scheme 2015.
Resource persons, including Advocate Arvind Khajuria, Advocate Deepali Arora, and Advocate Maheen Shah, conducted the program and enlightened the patients present about the various schemes initiated by the National Trust for the welfare of individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, and multiple disabilities.
Patients were informed about the availability of medical and legal aid through prominent schemes such as Ayushman Bharat Scheme, Niramaya (Health Insurance Scheme), and Gyan Prabha (Education Support). These initiatives aim to provide essential support and encouragement to individuals with different disabilities.
During the session, the resource persons emphasized that the Psychiatry Department at Hospital Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, offers ample space for patients and ensures the provision of all necessary facilities.
They also highlighted the presence of Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women Jammu, which participated in the program and provided valuable insights to the attendees.
To extend the reach of this vital information, similar awareness programs were organized at TLSC Bishnah, Akhnoor, and RS Pura, ensuring that a wider audience could benefit from the knowledge shared during these events.
