RAJOURI, May 23: Continuing its endeavour to help local residents of Rajouri in mitigating their hardships during the period of lockdown, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Rajouri distributed food items among labourers and maks to inmates of Nari Niketan Rajouri.
Under the leadership and guidance of the Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Justice Gita Mittal and Executive Chairman JKSLSA, Justice Rajesh Bindal, and under the directions of the Chairman, DLSA Rajouri, Jaffer Hussain Beig, the DLSA Rajouri has been helping the local people since first day of lockdown.
The Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) facilitated the local residents in getting ration from Government ration depots, procuring LPG cylinders, transportation, cash withdrawal from the banks, old age pension related issues, procuring medicines, providing work to locals under MGNREGA scheme etc.
The PLV’s also distributed dry food items to the labourers with the help of local residents. Besides providing masks to the girls (inmates) of Nari Niketan, the PLVs also made them understand how to wear masks and to maintain health hygiene in order to avoid COVID-19.
They visited door to door and made the local residents of Rajouri, particularly children, understand how to wash hands and maintain social distancing in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
