Diwali celebrated with religious fervour

JAMMU, Nov 1: Diwali was celebrated by various educational institutions with religious fervour and gaiety.
Kawa College of Education and Kawa Institute of Management and Technology celebrated Diwali with enthusiasm. On the occasion, students and teachers lighted lamps and candles and also worshipped Goddess Lakshmi. MS Katoch, Chairman of the college and Dr Anita Bali, Principal threw light on the importance of the festival.
RM College celebrated Diwali with enthusiasm and gaiety. The programme started with lighting of traditional lamp and Goddess Laxmi pojan followed by welcome address by Manu Bakshi, Senior lecturer. Chairman Rameshwer Mengi, Trustee Rita Mengi, Principal Dr PK Dhar, faculty members and students were present. Students presented colourful programme and enthralled the audience. In the end, Jyoti Rathore presented vote of thanks.
KCS College of Education (Women) celebrated Diwali in which the Goddess of wealth Maa Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha were worshipped. The compound of the college was decorated with earthen lamps. HoD M.Ed Department highlighted the importance of the festival.
NSM College of Education, Anand Nagar, Bohri celebrated Diwali. A rangoli competition was organized, in which first prize was bagged by Ankita, Kirti and Nishu, second prize by Neetu, Poonam and Neetu Koul and third prize by Priya Salaria, Priya Katoch and Shivani Sharma. Managing Director of the College Parneesh Mahajan and Principal Dr Suman Thussu threw light on the importance of the Diwali festival.
Delhi Public School organized a special assembly to celebrate Diwali. A cultural programme including several dances and group songs were presented by the children. The sight of tiny-tots wearing traditional costumers and expressions of characters depicting in the epic Ramayana, lend a festive charm to the entire event. Principal S Sonar highlighted the symbolic significance of lights in Diwali. He also felicitated the winners of Inter School Group Song Competition, which was held recently at KC International School recently.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Bohri celebrated Diwali. An inter-house rangoli competition was organized on the occasion. The students also lighted earthen lamps and candles. Chairperson Santosh Mahajan highlighted the importance of the day.
Maharaja Hari Singh DAV Public Higher Secondary School celebrated Diwali. The progamme started with symposium and story telling competition, during which students presented their views on the occasion on Diwali. Students also make and decorated the Diva’s, followed by rangoli making. Principal Durgesh Nandni and Committee member Atul Verma emphasized on the importance of Diwali.
Diwali was celebrated with enthusiasm and vigour in MV International School. A variety of cultural programmes were presented by the students. A theme based Inter-House Competition was also presented by the students. Chairperson Savita Abrol along with the Director Gourav Abrol and other management members were also present. Later, prizes were given to the students who were chosen for making best “Diyas”.
KC Gurukul Public School, Paloura celebrated Diwali. The students presented the skits on the life journey of Lord Ram, and performed dance and songs to depict the significance of Diwali. An Inter house Rangoli Competition was also held, in which Subash Chandra Bose House stood first, Swami Vivekananda House came second and the third position was shared by RN Tagore as well as Rani Laxmi Bai Houses. Senior Coordinator Neera Dogra, Chairman Arvind Mahajan, Principal Dr BR Dogra and Headmistress Mamta Singh highlighted the importance of the festival. The programme was organized by Diksha, Madhu and Shruti Gupta, teachers.
Calliope School Dummi celebrated Diwali by organizing plethora of events. Various competitions were organized on the occasion which included Diya making and Rangoli competition in which children showcased their talent.

Lord Mahavira School, Shiv Nagar celebrated Diwali with enthusiasm. On the occasion, students participated in various events. Principal highlighted the importance of the day.
A Rangoli competition was organized by Verma High School, Hakkal, Satwari to celebrate Diwali. The event was adjudged by parents of the students. A cultural item based on Lord Ram was also presented by the students. Sain Dass Verma, Principal highlighted the importance of the Diwali festival.
Rich Harvest School celebrated Diwali with great fervour and gaiety. On the occasion Ruchi Charak, Trustee, Dr Shivani Singh, Principal and other staff members along with students were present. Students attired in colourful traditional Indian wear. Various events were organised to bring more colour to Diwali Celebration like Diya decoration, Card making and Rangoli making competitions in which students took part with enthusiasm. Cultural items were also presented by students.
KC Playway celebrated Diwali at Old Age Home. The students presented colourful cultural programme including patriotic songs, group dance, folk songs and devotional prayers. Secretary of the home Vijay Kumar Bhagotra stressed upon social values. Academic Director of the school Vijay Puri was also present.
Kidzee Pre School celebrated Diwali at its branches at Anand Nagar Bohri, Talab Tillo, Gandhi Nagar and Channi Himmat. On the occasion, toddlers participated in Rangoli making event. Mothers along with their children were involved in creative works.
Asian Kids celebrated Diwali. A rangoli making competition was organized, in which the rangoli prepared by the group of Vaishali, Harshit and Amin, Sunny and Mahbish under the supervision of teacher Sapna Charak was adjudged best. KS Jamwal Chairman Jamwal Educational Trust Bari Brahmana was chief guest who along with Pooja Jamwal, Principal highlighted the importance of the day.
Supertech Kids Valley Play Way School, Talab Tillo celebrated Diwali. On the occasion, students presented various scenes depicting life of Lord Ram. parents and faculty members were also present on the occasion. Principal Meenakshi Gupta threw light on the importance of the day.
Chand Child Foundation Centre, Gurah Bakshi Nagar celebrated Diwali with pomp and show. Staff members and students were also present on the occasion.
Apple Kids International Pre School, Gandhi Nagar, celebrated Diwali. On the occasion, children recited poems on Diwali. Jagjeet Kaur, Principal of the school told the students about the significance of Diwali. Later, students and management together burnt the crackers.
