SRINAGAR, Aug 28: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division to take stock of the general issues including supply position and public outreach programme through a video conferencing.
During the meeting, it was informed that all the Government offices at district, sub division and Tehsil level across the Kashmir division are functioning normally.
Reviewing the functioning of the hospitals and schools, it was given out that hospitals are functioning normally and there is an adequate stock of supplies in place to meet the requirement, while majority of schools are open and the administration is optimistic that the attendance of students will also go up in the coming days.
It was also revealed that in many areas the public transport is plying normally.
Furthermore, the Div Com was apprised that there is no dearth of cash in ATMs across the valley, and the banks are also operational.
The officials of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs told that sufficient stock of food grains and other essential commodities are readily available across the Kashmir division. The Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioners of Kupwara and Bandipora to ensure that sufficient stocks of essentials are maintained for the far flung areas for the coming winter.
The meeting was informed that the divisional administration has put in proper mechanism to ferry the harvested fruits to outside Jammu and Kashmir.
While reviewing the developmental scenario of the Valley, it was given out that all the developmental activities would be started soon as the administration is working on removing all kind of bottleneck in the process.
The Div Com directed all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that all the arrangements are put in place for the smooth observance of holy month of Muharram.
