SRINAGAR, Sept 5: Baseer Ahmed Khan, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir met Governor Satya Pal Malik at Rajbhavan here today.
Khan briefed Governor about certain important issues relating to internal security management and implementation of important development programmes. He also discussed with Governor matters relating to the to-date status of land acquisition for roads and other major projects, ongoing preparations for conducting elections to Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies and preparedness of the government machinery for dealing with any flood like situation in the Valley.
Governor advised Khan to ensure prompt delivery of public services and time bound implementation of all the Central and State Government development schemes on the ground.
He directed Divisional Commissioner to strengthen public grievance redressal mechanism at the Divisional and District headquarters with robust follow up.
Hirdesh Kumar, Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department also met Governor and briefed him about the position of energy access and availability and the demand and supply position of power in the State, to-date status of various schemes and programmes in power sector like schemes of Saubhagya, UJALA, PMDP, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.
Governor directed that all works pertaining to electrification of the un-electrified households, should be prioritized and emphasised that the work should be expedited on all the projects covered under Centrally Sponsored Schemes for their timely completion.
