Div Com reviews regulation of private tuition centres

SRINAGAR, Jan 7: For improving the basic infrastructure and other facilities being provided to the students opting for private tuitions in the Valley, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Rohit Kansal convened a high level meeting here today in which IGP Kashmir Abdul Gani Mir, Dy. Commissioner, Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director School Education, Kashmir Tariq Ali Mir, Additional Deputy. Commissioner, Srinagar G. M. Dar, S.P. Srinagar South Rayees Ahmad, Joint Director Information Kashmir, Shafqat Iqbal and other officers participated.
In view of High Court orders, the Divisional Commissioner, constituted a committee of officers under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy. Commissioner, Srinagar G. M. Dar alongwith Joint Director Information, Kashmir Shafqat Iqbal, S. P. South Srinagar and Personnel Officer Directorate of School Education, Kashmir as its members, who will monitor the regulation of these private tuition centres functioning in Srinagar.
The Committee has been directed to monitor the basic infrastructure of the tuition centres and other facilities being provided to the students which include details of tuition fee, separate toilet facilities for boys and girls, proper heating arrangements, proper space, drinking water facilities, besides installation of CCTV cameras and reservation of free admission upto 10% of the total intake capacity in each class/course for the students who are destitute, orphans or belong to BPL category.
The committee was asked to furnish compliance reports for taking appropriate action against those centres which do not comply with the J&K Regulation of Private Tuition Center Rules, 2010 issued by the Government in this regard.
