JAMMU, July 9: To review the pace of progress on beautification and development of Raghunath Bazar, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pradeep Gupta convened a meeting of senior officers of various departments here this morning.
During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner had a detailed review of the status of work on the Rs 6.62 crore project taken up to beautify and develop the market around the historical Ragunath Temple .
Mr Gupta took stock of the physical status of the work done by PDD, NBCC, ERA, PHE and other executing agencies.
The PDD authorities apprised the Divisional Commissioner that the M& RE has completed the alignment and installation of almost all the poles, besides work on erection of 13 meter S.T. Pole specially designed on both sides of the footpath, laying of ASCR Panther conductors, earthing of poles, concrete bottoming of poles, temporary shifting of 630 KVA S/Stn at Hans Raj park, shifting of L.T line for making space for creation of platform and other allied works, creation of 3×630 KVA S/Stn, laying of HT Tap line through XLPE HT cable from S-8 feeder for connecting 3×630 KVA bank, construction of RCC platform for housing three 630 KVAs .
They also apprised that 6 transformers would also be installed in the area to reduce the fluctuation and to mitigate the overloading.
The meeting was told that the process for procurement of ornamental moulding for lower portion of poles to give these designer look with fancy lights and PVC cables has also been started with the placement of the orders.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the NBCC to complete remaining sewerage work in the areas, particularly at Amar Market and Hari Theatre so that the development works taken in hand by PHE, PWD, PDD, BSNL and other executing agencies would not get delayed.
He asked the concerned to provide funds to PDD and PHE to complete their pending works so that the beautification/development and restoration work of roads at Raghunath Bazar could be completed in a stipulated time period.
The officers present in the meeting assured the Divisional Commissioner that they would work in close coordination to complete the upgradation, beatification, renovation and development of Raghunath Bazar well before the prescribed time period.

J.S. Johar, Dy. S.P Traffic, Manjeet Kour, General Manager SICOP, Rakesh Sharma, Xen PHE, City Division-I, DGM, BSNL, Kulbushan Sharma, besides president Raghunath Bazar Association, Surinder , Senior Vice President, Raghunath Bazar Association, Sahil Malhotra and other senior officers also attended the meeting.
