Div Com reviews progress on mega projects

JAMMU, Oct 8: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu, convened a high level meeting to review the progress of implementation of various mega projects in Jammu division here today.
The Div Com exhorted upon the officers to ensure timely and quality completion of all ongoing development mega which is pre-requisite for achieving targeted results. He also emphasized the need of enhanced synergy among the executing agencies and concerned departments for better effect. He asked the officers to ensure regular monitoring of works which is a vital component in success of any development programme.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Director Tourism, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma, VC JDA, K L Khajuria, Chief Engineer, RTIC, H C Jerath, Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr Shashi Gupta, Chief Engineer PHE, K K Gupta, MD Cable Car Corporation, Tufail Mattoo, Director Agriculture Jammu, Ajay Khajuria, Director Industries, G A Qureshi, Commissioner JMC, Kiran Wattal and other senior officers.
The meeting was informed that work on new Legislature Complex is apace while the work on protection job on hill side facing existing legislature complex building and the alternate parking behind civil secretariat building is complete.
While reviewing the projects being completed by the Tourism Department, Director Tourism informed that development works on Tawi river front are going on in full swing and work on walkways, kiosk, recreational children park and various other works will be completed by November this year.
Other projects deliberated upon in the meeting included sewerage projects in Jammu, fourth Tawi bridge, Satwari Kunjwani Road, construction of 200 bedded Government maternity hospital at Gandhi Nagar, improvement/upgradation of Raghunath Bazar, super specialty hospital Jammu, convention centre Jammu, multi tier parking at General Bus Stand, tourism, Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society, Agriculture, Ravi Tawi Irrigation, State Cable Car Corporation, JKPCC, Industry and Commerce, Irrigation and Flood Control, EM&RE Jammu and ERA.
