JAMMU, Mar 2: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal today visited the site of Balole Nala and took stock of the progress on restoration work of canal siphon of Main Tawi Canal at Parmandal Morh.
The permanent restoration of the canal siphon being made by way of constructing 220m barrel and the project is set to be completed by March 28. This project is being constructed by the Ravi Tawi Irrigation Complex (RTIC).
The canal siphon serves as an essential link to provide water supply to Bari Brahmna, Vijaypur, Bishnah and its adjoining areas.
During the visit, Dr Kotwal reviewed the plans and enquired about execution of various elements of the plans.
Chief Engineer RTIC H R Jeerath, Superintending Engineer RTIC Kuldeep Kumar Magotra, Executive Engineer TCCD Jammu R C Thappa, AEE A K Bhardwaj and concerned officers were accompaning the Divisional Commissioner.
