JAMMU, Aug 26: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the status of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme (PM-KSN) at a meeting with Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division.
The meeting was attended by Director Agriculture, P S Rathore, ADDC, Jammu and other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioners along with Chief Agriculture Officers and other concerned attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The DCs apprised the Div Com about the total number of farm operating families data captured, forms uploaded-number of forms rejected, number of forms accepted and number of families paid assistant under the Scheme.
It was informed that a total 26845 farmers received first installment/ payment in district Ramban, 25777 in district Samba, 42 thousand in district Doda, 35 thousand in district Kathua, 37243 in district Udhampur, 27848 in district Kishtwar, 25092 in district Reasi, 42 thousand in district Rajouri and 50257 in district Jammu, while process for payment of 2nd and 3rd installments is in progress.
The Div Com asked the DCs to re-verify data of beneficiaries to avoid errors and variations. He further exhorted upon the concerned officers to ensure that no eligible person is left out and the exercise should continue so that every eligible farmer can avail the benefits of the Scheme.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner chaired a meeting of senior officers to review the arrangements being put in place for Muharram.
Threadbare discussions were held on sanitation, security, traffic management besides other necessary arrangements to be made at the religious places and religious congregations organized during the holy month.
It was informed in the meeting that the Muharram will commence from September 1 followed by Majlis and other religious events at various places besides this the main procession Ashura would be taken on September 10 from Dargah Peer Mitha Sahib Jammu and after passing through Lakhdata Bazar, Ghas Mandi, Shaeedi Chowk, Wazarat Road will culminate at Karbala Complex.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure un-interrupted power and drinking water supply, availability of essential commodities like food grains, sugar, LPG, availability of ambulances, first aid kits, adequate number of doctors and para medical staff during the Muharram days.
