JAMMU, Aug 3: Divisional Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, chaired a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and officers from Forest Department and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited to review the implementation of the Schedule Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers Act and pending land transfer cases for 4G saturation.
The Div Com reviewed pending land transfer cases for 4G tower installation of BSNL for better connectivity, while Deputy Commissioners informed about the total number of locations/sites involved and the status of land allotment to BSNL in their respective districts. The Div Com observed a mismatch of data shared and directed BSNL Officers to compile data in consultation with district administrations.
Deputy Commissioners were directed to expedite cases for early tower installation. The Div Com also inquired about the status of settlement claims received in the districts under the Schedule Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers Act. He instructed DCs to expedite progress and ensure early settlement of all pending cases.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Conservator of Forests, Officers of BSNL, Information Technology besides Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division alongwith other concerned officers participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
