JAMMU, Oct 2: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pardeep Gupta today visited Government Medical College and Hospital and enquired about the condition of couple injured in Pak firing at Chechwal in Samba sector .
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu J. P. Singh, Principal GMC, Dr. Anees Chowdhary, Medical Superintendent and health functionaries also accompanied the Divisional Commissioner.
Mr. Gupta enquired about the condition of the injured and also interacted with the relatives of the injured who were present at the GMC&H. He appreciated the courage of border people who shifted victims amid firing to the hospital for treatment.
It is pertinent to mention here that Kulwant Singh, S/o Rumal Singh, a SPO and his wife Krishna Devi were seriously injured in Pak firing at Chechwal when they were working in their fields.
The Divisional Commissioner announced Rs. 10,000 relief to each injured from Red Cross.
He said that they are also entitled for relief which is being provided as ex-gratia to those injured in border firing.
