JAMMU, Nov 27: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu today visited Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and took stock of the work being undertaken under 13th Finance Commission.
The complex has been declared as Protected Monument and Tourism Department has been notified as Administrative Department for Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 53.95 crore against which an amount of Rs. 50 crore have been sanctioned. Funds to the tune of Rs. 8.51 crore have been released against which Rs. 8.50 crore have been utilized. The work is being executed by Archeological Survey of India. Sixty percent restoration work of Royal Court has been completed. Work on Gadvai Khana and Badi Deodi is under progress. Besides restoration Khatam Bandi work of erstwhile Army Head Quarter (Foreign Office) building is also being executed by the ASI team and Tourism Department respectively with sanctioned cost of Rs. 4.37 crore against which an expenditure of Rs. 3.96 crore has been incurred.
Divisional Commissioner directed the ASI team to expedite the pace of work so that work on Heritage Complex would be completed at the earliest.
Director Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society, Rohit Khajuria and team members of Archeological Survey of India were also present on the occasion.
