Div Com finalises action plan for promotion of traditional, cultural festivals

JAMMU, Dec 24: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today approved the action plan for promotion of J&K’s Traditional and Cultural Festival in Jammu Division under a newly introduced Government scheme.
Director, Archives, Archeology and Museums, Rahul Pandey gave a detailed presentation on the proposed festivals and briefed about the implementation of the scheme.
It was informed that the Festivals have been categorized into three broader categories, Medium, Large and Mega with the provision of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs 40 lakh funds for each category of festival.
The possibility of a tangible–asset-generation under the scheme at the respective venues, as per the list was discussed.
The Div Com (Chairman DLIC) directed the Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages to formulate the Action Plan of the proposed 52 festivals within a week and place the same before the Committee for approval in the next meeting.
Out of 272 proposed traditional and folk festivals, the DLIC has in principle given the approval for the 42 festivals covered in the last financial quarter of the year 2021-22 received from the DCs of Jammu Division. The approval to the remaining festivals shall be provided in the subsequent meetings to be held by the DLIC.
In addition to that, it was proposed by the Secretary JKAACL that 10 festivals of a larger scale/scope– one in each district should be added to the list, the DLIC has given in principle approval for the same.
The meeting was attended by Director, Archives, Archeology and Museums J&K, Rahul Pandey, Additional Secretary J&K Art, Culture and Languages, Chief Engineer PWD, Chief Engineer JPDCL, Deputy Director Planning, Joint Director, Tourism besides senior officers of concerned Departments.
Meanwhile, Div Com conducted administrative inspection of the Office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu and took stock of the functioning of various sections there.
During the visit, the Div Com took a round of each section of the DC office and enquired about the functioning, staff strength and disposal mechanism for public issues and different cases.
He also interacted with the staff present and enquired about the nature of work in each section including Personal Section, SQ section, Establishment, Judicial, Accounts, CPO office, ADC office, ACR Office, ACG Office, Tehsildar Headquarters, Tehsildar Jammu Khas, Tehsildar Recovery etc.
While inspecting the office of Assistant Commissioner Nazool, the Div Com directed to update the lease data, separation of expired leases, number of renewals for proper maintenance of lease file register.
At the Tehsildar Recovery office, the Div Com instructed the Tehsildar to issue timely notices, summons to facilitate expeditious recoveries.
While inspecting the office of Tehsildar Jammu Khas, the Div Com directed him to make an inventory of all the revenue records, including intkals. He also instructed him to scan all the data available for permanency and easy accessibility. The Div Com also inquired about the number of Domiciles issues status of pending applications.
The staff members of revenue sections were directed to keep all data updated including received files, those disposed of and pending to streamline the working for the convenience of the public.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg apprised the Div Com about the initiatives taken by the district administration for timely disposal of various applications, files. The Div Com lauded the efforts of district administration for streamlining the rent payment of requisitioned land through technology intervention.
