District Udhampur Khelo India Handball Championship concludes

UDHAMPUR, Oct 26: Udhampur District Khelo India Handball Championship under-17 boys 2018-19 concluded at Subash Stadium, here today.
The championship is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Handball Association, in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council.
Narinder Mahajan, Vice President Handball Federation of India was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony.
Calling upon youngsters to take active part in sports and games, Nariender Mahajan said that besides nurturing body and mind of the players, sports is a good career option.
“Our youth have immense talent and all out efforts are being made by various Government and sports associations to provide best possible sports facilities for the players in the state,” Mr Mahajan said.
He said Khelo India scheme has been launched with an objective to involve youth in sports activities to channelize their energy in right direction and imbibe leadership qualities, team spirit and discipline among them.
Ashwani Kumar Raina, General Secretary J&K Handball Association highlighted the activities of the Handball Association and extended thanks to J&K State Sports Council Officers ,Coaches and Officials of the Association and media for support.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sandeep Verma PRO Handball Federation of India, Sanjeev Jamwal Executive Member J&K Handball Association. Vikram Slathia Vice President Udhampur Handball Association and Ravi Singh General Secretary Udhampur Handball Association.
The final match was played between Bawara Handball Club and APS (Sr.)
Handball Club in which Bawara Handball Club defeated rival by 25-15.
The matches were officiated by Rishi, Apporav, Sangram, Karun, Ravi Kumar, Raju and Saurav.
