District Red Cross Society organizes symposium

JAMMU, Dec 21: District Red Cross Society, Jammu organized symposium on the theme “150 year of Humanitarian Services at Government Higher Secondary School, Sohal(Akhnoor).
The students of GHSS Sohal, GHS Mawa Brahimanah, GHS Pangyari and New  Oriental H/S Sohal participated. Col Bana Sharma was the chief guest. The programme started with lighting of lamp then Saraswati Vandana was performed by the students of GHSS School.
Suresh Sharma, hony Executive Secretary Red Cross Society, district Jammu while interacting with Principals and students said that Red Cross means missionary zeal and wished that a sea of humanity would render their services to save previous lives.
Dinesh Gupta, Director Childline Jammu-A project of District Red Cross Society, Jammu briefed the Audience about the object of having a organization like Childline and how the members of public can also helpful in helping the children in distress.
In the end, momentoes were presented to winners of symposium. First prize was bagged by Sonika Sharma of GHSS Sohal, there was a tie for second prize between parveen Sharma of GHSS Sohal and Shivani Thapa of New Oriental High School and third prize was bagged by Miss Radhu of Government H/S Mawa Brahminah. Certificates were distributed among all the participants.
O P Gupta -veterenar educationist, Principals of different Government/ Private schools were the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Light refreshment was served to the students.
