District Cong convenes preparatory meeting for Bharat Jodo Yatra

JAMMU, Dec 3: During its monthly meeting on Saturday, District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) discussed preparations for the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Incharge District President Jammu (U) and former minister Yogesh Sawhney chaired the meeting which was attended by District office bearers from all Assemblies of Jammu District, Ward Presidents, Block Presidents and Councillors. Sawhney highlighted at the meeting that the Bharat Jodo rally will receive a grand welcome when it reaches Jammu.
During the meeting, duties were also segregated among the office bearers to prepare for Rahul Gandhi’s historic rally. Sawhney said that all District Congress members will join the rally in Jammu to march together for the unity and integrity of India.
Senior Congress leaders including Councillor Ward 7 Ritu Choudhary, Sanjeev Sharma, Jatin Vashisht, Atul Sharma, Jougal Sharma, Mandeep Singh, H S Baggi, Rakesh Kumar, Rishu Kumar, Anil Kumar, Sikander, Ram Magotra, Rinku, Sahil Sharma, Rishabh Kohli, Jagdish Bhagat, Prithviraj Chouhan and others were present at the meeting.
Yogesh Sawhney said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is a movement celebrating the spirit of unity and integrity in the country, and put up a fight against the active divisive forces. “It will go down in history as a memorable and successful event,” said Sawhney.
Sawhney also took stock of ongoing issues which will be tackled by the party and outlined the strategy for the implementation of the upcoming party programs, urging the members to ensure their smooth execution. A full fledged road map as guided by the party leadership will direct the members towards forming a foundation for the elections as well, said Sawhney.
On the occasion, Sawhney also targeted the BJP Government for ignoring issues of the people of Jammu on the national podium. He said that Congress is dedicated to the cause of people and resolve their issue. “We have to work together to defeat the BJP electorally and democratically in order to achieve that objective,” he said, adding that the campaign started by Rahul Gandhi against hatred, violence and fear in society is an important movement in today’s context.
