KATHUA, Aug 27: Intensifying the drive against the encroachers of State land, the anti encroachment drive was launched in Mahanpur and Basohli tehsils of the Kathua district under the overall supervision of Sanjay Gupta, ADC Basohli with the teams led by Gaurav Sharma, Tehsildar, Basohli, Executive Officer, Basohli, Jatinder Singh, Tehsildar Mahanpur, wherein 35 khokhas in Mahanpur and 17 khokhas in Basohli town were removed. Also encroached land by shopkeepers was restored by the district administration after removing all the encroachments.
The drive has been launched on the directives of District Development Commissioner, Kathua Rohit Khajuria. The district administration has also retrieved 25 kanals of land along National Highway which was encroached by land mafia by removing encroachments today.
The DC Kathua has warned the people who have encroached the Government land in any part of the district to vacate it immediately failing which the authorities will be forced to take legal action besides dismantling the structures and removing the encroachments.
