Addressing the press conference here today, Singh said that the Langate MLA has all along been in the centre of controversies for his anti- India stance and his contempt for Indian symbols. He regretted that MLA Rashid who has all along been questioning Accession besides opposing India constitution and flag was not only being unduly sheltered and pampered by the BJP-PDP Govt but also conferred with all sops and favours at the cost of tax payer’s money deliriously oblivious of his felonious credentials. Despite his numerous anti -India rallies and protests against the army and other para-military forces, the said MLA continued to be given all facilities at Govt expense besides provision of a huge paraphernalia of security personnel, free fuel etc.
Singh said that latest reports indicating involvement of  this  MLA in terror funding in Kashmir and summons to him by NIA in this regard, was an eye opener for the Govt which had turned a blind eye towards the highly seditious and anti-national acts of the said AIP leader. He recalled that the delinquent MLA had earlier attempted to foment trouble by a beef party in MLA Hotel Srinagar which had also been disregarded by the State Govt and the MLA allowed to go scot free without registering any case against him. He pointed out that on several earlier occasions also, Er Rashid had been trying to stir trouble by his anti national rants, by his mischiefs to create communal divide, by supporting separatism and secession, by challenging accession and by provoking riots leading to breach of peace and security.
Singh pointed out that disloyalty to state being one of the grounds for disqualification as envisaged under law, the felon MLA had lost all right to continue as legislator and urged upon the Speaker to initiate the process for his qualification from Legislative Assembly besides directing registration of FIRs against him under RPC.
Seeking registration of criminal cases against the malefactor, he sought immediate arrest of MLA Rashid for persistently and brazenly defying the law of the land under various provisions of Ranbir Penal Code.
